False Listing, Low Airflow! It is listed as Rev.2 which is supposed to deliver 74 CFM, but after receiving it I noticed the airflow was very low and when I checked the box it is listed at 53 CFM. After doing more research online I noticed actual Rev.2 fans will have it printed on the fan hub, but the ones I received do not, and the fan speeds are consistent with the previous version. 1Three out of eight arrived broken. I ordered eight of these to mount in the top of a Thermaltake Core X9 unfortunately after mounting the fans it became clear three of the fans came DOA. The fans snapped at the mounting point to the internal axle rendering them useless. I requested and RMA with their support and will update if once the process is complete.UPDATEAfter contacting ARCTIC support they sent me replacement fans without any hassle. I would not hesitate to buy these again based on product support. 5A real disappointment....I've used their cpu coolers in the past and was quite impressed. This thing not so much. Arrived with a shattered fan blade assembly. It happens, I get that. What I don't get is the less than pro grade construction compared with the completion. From the frame assembly, to the wire connector, to the motor construction it looked and felt brittle and fragile, more like a prop. Could not see relying on something like this to protect my components.2GARBAGE ! ! ! They packed a broken fan and just shipped it out ! ! !Ordered a pair of these to replace my current exhaust fans so I could use my Corsair fans to run a push pull fan setup on my CPU radiator. Received them and found one fan was broken off the motor hub and was obviously defective. There was no damage to the box it was in so I can only assume that Arctic is packing known broken parts like this garbage I got and shipping them out. Terrible quality control. This is my first experience with the Arctic brand and I can confidently say I will never use this garbage brand again.1Always always always check your packageWell, I used half of the 6 fans I received. I made the mistake of putting off a project for months. All the boxes looked perfectly fine and half of them were broken.Unfortunately, I'm way past the return window. Learn from my mistake and inspect your items even if the boxes look totally fine! That said, the fans are super quiet. You sacrifice a little CFM, but man is it nice to not hear a thing.5Awesome quality, extremely quiet nearly silent Awesome quality, extremely quiet nearly silent. I replaced all 7 fans in my case with these and their working beautifully.FYI if your unfamiliar with PST it essentially allows you to hook up multiple fans to a single header because each fan has a small pig tail from the main connector to hook another fan into. You can hook up to 5 fans from a single header. This is very nice for motherboards that have too few fan headers. I ended up having 4 of these fans use the PST function so all front case fans were in sync - this is very nice. Cable length is generous and should be more than sufficient for a full ATX case. I would absolutely recommend these. I would defenetly, without a doubt buy them again.Another question that was answered for myself after using these was the static air pressure. They blow very well and move a lot of air. I have two of these mounted on my radiator for a closed loop water cooler I use (Corsair H100i). They don't have quite the static pressure of the Corsair HS series fans, but the system is not over clocked and I max out around 48c on the CPU with the ARCTIC F12's still. The Corsair are loud - like stupid loud you can hear them from another room when they are at full speed. The F12's at full throttle are magnitudes quieter (albet less static pressure) but still more than sufficient. They look cool too! No stupid LED's no gimmicks. Plastic is the nice thick type, I've broken blades in the past from all my tinkering and accidental bumping. I think the added couple blades defently help with noise and air flow. These are PERFECT for the front of a computer case or rear exhaust 120mm case port. They are also dual bearing fans. Now sleeve bearings are generally quieter (they don't last as long), these bearing fans are on par with how quiet the sleeve bearings are. 5Not so quiet I just installed the fan today in a custom network box. Much to my disappointment the fan is making a rubbing sound. I have checked the clearance all around the fan and concluded that the noise is coming from within the fan hub motor area. Very disappointing to have what could have been a nearly silent fan that constantly goes "scratch scratch scratch."Update: After several hours of operation, the loud scratching has turned into a quiet scratching. Whatever is rubbing has partially worn away. I'm going to see if it goes away overnight. I really don't want to disassemble the cabinet, but since it is going in a bedroom I may have to replace it... 1Good functional bargain I am pleasantly surprised with this purchase. The order for fans is because cooling was what the computer was missing. Five fans optimized for static air pressure, sounded great. The fans are whisper quiet. The power cord is a reasonable length. The surprise came when I noticed the male/ female coupling connectors. All five fans can be coupled to run from one (1) power source. That is a very nice feature. The set also comes with mounting screws. They have to cut their own grooves but come in handy. This is a good economic purchase. 5Affordable PWM System Reduced PC Temperature and Saves Money I decided to replace my case fans with these 120mm Arctic fans in order to utilize the PWM technology on my MOBO. I have had these fans up and running for nearly 2 weeks, my thoughts are below:PROS -1. The fans are very quiet for how inexpensive they are. Sound becomes more noticeable when gaming (~1100RPM) but are silent when web browsing (~700RPM).2. Included PWM PST connecting cord allowed me to link up to four of these to one fan spot on my MOBO.3. Longer cord allows connection to reach more distant fans.4. Reduced PC temperatures by a few degrees celcius (During PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Ultra settings): GPU (Nvidia GTX 770 4gb): 76c max (Previously 79c) CPU (Watercooled i7 4770k): 58c max (Previously 61c) Case Temp: 42c max (Previously 44c)5. With PWM enabled fan speeds never exceed 80%, remaining relatively quiet. Fans use considerably less power while not gaming and while idle, this will lead to reduced power consumption.CONS -1. Some wire management is required for numerous fansI honestly have nothing to complain about. The fan appears to be durable and of good quality while remaining a good buy for the price! Installation is simple. 5Just one small complaint...for some reason my bios shows the speed going to 0 rpm every couple of minutes which triggers my monitoring software and pops up a warning. I'm looking right at the fan and can see that the speed is consistent.Other than that it's a very quiet little fan and have no other complaints. And it did work without that problem for several months so don't know what's up with that.4Aesthetically pleasing, pretty quietWhile I wouldn't go so far as to say silent, these fans are much quieter than the typical budget stock fan. They're quite classy looking, if you're going for a more mature look rather than the whole RGB circus. I use this while recording music and the noise is an acceptable little hum, and might be even better if your motherboard allows slower fan speeds.4Silent, worked perfect fast shipping.Plug and play, worked perfect, shipped very fast.Definitely recommend.5***SuperQuiet High CFM Fan*** Got these to upgrade the Cooler Master HAF 912 I have recently purchased to do a new build (used three) two in the front and one rear and could not be happier. They really do move a lot of air. For one thing the OEM fan had seven blades and these have nine and placing my hand at the rear I can feel the difference in air flow as it pushes against my hand. The real news is they are very quiet fans not that the CM's were noisey just that these are super quiet with the no bearing technology.. With the prices for a five pack you just can't go wrong. Highly recommend. With three running the only one I hear is the stock AMD CPU fan when it gets a tad warm while gaming. These things are super quiet to say the least.***UPDATE***1/21/2015Noticed a distinct wobble one day on my PC case and took a side off..sure enough it was one of the fans that had a blade snap off causing the wobble. Emailed Artic stated my issue attached my Amazon invoice and they sent a replacement ...no fuss.. no muss.Excellent company and customer support. The fan failure to me was just one of those things that happens with things from time to time in all walks of life no matter the product. Great customer service doesn't seem to happen as much...they stand behind their product. 5Works as expected!Works with my first buildMB: MSI B450 Gaming Plus MaxCPU: Ryzen 5 3600Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHzGPU: GTX 1660 TI Ventus XS 6G OCStorage: Silicon Power 512GB NVMe M.2 & Seagate BarraCuda Pro 1TBPower: EVGA 700 GD, 80+ Gold 700WAdd-ons:-Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition-Asiahorse Customization Mod Sleeve Extension Power Supply Cable Kit-x1 ARCTIC F12 Silent, 120 mm-x3 ARCTIC F14 SILENT-140 mm5Quietest fan in my system at full power My pc case had a spot for a 120mm fan in the back but didn't come with one. I've used arctic fans in the past with no issues so I was happy to find this fan at a good price. Installed with a molex to 3 pin adapter to see how loud it was, thinking I may need to get a fan controller to slow it down if it was noisy. That's not the case, the smaller fans in my system are all louder, the 120mm arctic is nearly silent. Good buy, highly recommended. 5modern fan technology! These did make a substantial difference in the performance of both my 120mm and 240mm radiators. I had previously used highly rated standard fans on push/pull, but throttled down for noise. These I use at 100% speed - and they are almost completely silent! There are a few fans rated slightly higher, but at 2 to 3 times this price (I bought the pack of 5). I liked them so much that I converted all my case fans to these. Note: these "pressure optimized" fans are substantially quieter than the Arctic "standard" models also shown here, despite identical manufacturer's dB ratings. 5No more or less than expected (a good thing)When I first received this item, it was dead on arrival (the fan had broken off the main shaft and wouldn't even turn on). The item was immediately and without question replaced within a day or two, without even asking for me to return the original defective fan. While the delay could be irritating if I needed the fan immediately, I was in no rush and was pleased with the quality of service and trust provided, so I did not take this into account in my review score. As for the product itself, it works as advertised so far. Plugged it in and it ran smoothly and pretty much silently right from the start, with issues encountered. It moves about as much air as I expected, it has no extra features, and it works as advertised.I needed a simple, no frills fan for my desktop, I got exactly what I was looking for. I am satisfied.5Love these fans but there are some manufacturing issues I've gotten these fans in the past and they were excellent, but I bought another set and their performance was lackluster. In the video I posted I have a fan from the first time I purchased on top, and a fan from the most recent set I purchased on the bottom. They are receiving the same PWM signal from the CPU fan controller, but the bottom fan is drastically slower. Additionally, either the friction on the motor is too great, or the motor stall torque is too low; either way, the result is that the fan does not have enough torque to restart at steady voltage conditions. The overall performance of the fan is lackluster, and the entire box performed similarly. I've already requested a return label, and I'm hoping the replacement does not have this performance issue. I'm giving it 3 stars because the first box I purchased was excellent, and I hope I can update my review when I get a replacement set of fans.Update: I got a replacement set of fans and they are exactly the same: subpar compared to previous fans of the same make and model. I uploaded a new video showing how the RPM and torque are lower on the same pin compared to an older version of the fan, even with only 2 fans on the same header. I normally have two of the same older model Arctic fans as well as two other fans running on the CPU header with no problem; the newer fans are just not as good. 2Great when not DoAGot a dud which acted in same manner other reviews at least 2 years ago mention: sporadic loud growling/rattling noise as soon as powered on, physical shaking emanating from center of fan. Didn't take fan apart to identify exact issue. Would be nice if ARCTIC QA resolved manufacturing problem rather than continuing to send defective fans to customers for years, though I can't say just how unlucky I was; maybe I won the case fan defect lottery. As always, Amazon replaced immediately and without question with a couple clicks; tough to ding it much when Amazon mitigates the problem so quickly and effortlessly.Second fan arrived and works as described, does a good job pulling some cool air in to keep HDDs living longer, very competitive price for the specs, no rattling issue.4Quite PleasedRecently, one of three fans I have in my computer stopped working and a second one began only working intermittently. The noise I was hearing when the computer would come out of hibernation was very annoying. I decided to replace all 3 fans and I'm very pleased with my purchase. They are very quiet. I hear NOTHING when the computer starts to come out of hibernation. They were quite easy to install and I have no complaints in the short time I have had them installed (June 8, 2019). I do feel like the computer is not getting as hot as it did before but, I run my computer a solid 6-8 hours, or more, without it ever going into hibernation mode, so I expect it to get a little warm. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is, I never give anything 5 stars unless I have used the product at least 6 months. Perhaps in a few months I will update this review to 5 stars if the standards of the product continues to be excellent. I would recommend this product.4
