Customer Reviews

Well made and fits perfectlyThe lens cap is as pictured and advertised. Fits lens perfectly and looks good. I also like the included loop, which when attached to the lens cap through a discreet hole in the edge of the cap, allows the cap to swing freely from the lens when not in use. There is also a sticker adapter if you want to attach the loop to the cap that way. The loop through the hole seems a more secure way. But I appreciate they gave options. If there is a small critique, the part of the lens cap you squeeze together to place/remove the cap could be improved to make it less likely to slip out between the thumb and index finger, maybe by incorporating a ridge or notch. Overall, happy with it.5Not for my fingersThese caps work similar to the kit lens cap that comes with the Sony a6000. You pinch the center of the lens cap to release the grips that hold the lens cap into place (or to put it back on). On these replacement caps, there are no lips on the plastic where you pinch the lens, so there is nothing to really hold on to. I would have never thought to look for this until I actually tried putting on and taking off the lens cap. The Sony branded one is significantly easier to add or remove thanks to this extra plastic. With this replacement, I have to fumble the cap into place and fear I could damage the lens in the process. In my opinion and experience, its worth the extra money to get the Sony branded lens caps. There are no instructions as to how to loop the cord into the cap (or how to unloop the cord from the sticker adhesive that comes attached). While this may be common sense to some, I couldn't figure it out in a reasonable amount of time. It comes with a sticker adhesive to attach which works fine, but adds bulk to the lens cap.2Works on Canon M SeriesThe picture of it sticking to the front of the cap is misleading as no adhesive is provided. I spent 5 minutes untying the and ran the string through the holes on the side. The strap fits the lens fine. I was afraid I would have to tie it with the camera strap and may have to do that if the lens strap stretches out and doesn't stay around the lens. For the price, it does what it is supposed to do and the only recommendation to them is to ship the string unknotted.5Nice cap, but read this review if you are ...Nice cap, but read this review if you are buying it!. The stick-on piece is pure laziness on their part. Look at the pictures and you can see that the cap already has a nice hole designed to thread a cord through. I bought the 37mm and 46mm versions for my Olympus cameras, and rather than sticking on the tabs I just removed them and threaded the cords through the hole in the caps. It is MUCH better solution as it will never come loose, but on the 37mm it was a little finicky to do and I ended up fishing it out from the other end with the point of a needle. Did they throw in the stick on piece to save assembly time? Throw it away and connect the cord directly!4Value X2Looking at the photos on Amazon I thought they looked cheap. After getting them I still think they look cheap, BUT they are NOT! They cling to my lens cap like there's no tomorrow. I lifted the entire camera using the cap just to see how strong it grips. Very impressive. Forget about using the adhesive pads and just run the little loop thru the hole in the cap. The elastic noose keeps the cap securely. Attaching the cap, or removing it is a snap. Just pinch the outside, not the inside, indents. EasySo if looks are important then search elsewhere. If a reliable, low cost cap is what you want I would choose this model. And you get 2 in a package!5Good quality and price but POOR GRIP! It needs a lip on the pinch areas for your fingernail or whatever.I just got this for my Fujinon 35mm f/2. It fits perfectly and unlike some other folks, I know you're supposed to remove the sticky thing and thread the thread through the hole in the lens cap. No problems there. The price is right too... you get two caps just in case. So why only 3 stars?! Because the design is POOR! The two areas where you pinch is just smooth plastic. It works for sure but my thumb and index finger cannot get a grip on it and I've banged my front element a few times taking thing off. What I mean is that there's not a lip on those two side pinch areas so your fingernail or whatever can get a grip. Your fingers will slip right off, especially in a smaller size (like the 43mm one I bought). It may not be an issue in a bigger size but there's not enough room in there to fit my fingers to get a proper grip. I'm not asking for much... just 2mm lip or something to grip onto. So buy it if you'd like as there are many positives but just be aware as this was a big deal for me and I would have skipped it had I known.3Hard to pinchIt works and all and the price is quite nice, however my main issue with it is that it's hard to pinch the center part to release it from the lens. I buy metal hoods that stay with my lens all the time for accidental scratch and drop protection, so center pinch lens caps are a necessities for me. This lens cap however is too slippery to pinch in the center to release, therefore I usually fumble trying to take the cap off and also when trying to put the cap on. Which I usually end up dropping the cap on the ground most of the time. There's another brand of center pinch cap out here that is priced about twice the price of this but works really well, which I should have opted for that and not cheap out.3Works for TG-5 with Lens AdapterGot this for my Olympus TG-5 with the CLA-T01 Conversion Lens Adapter. The 40.5 mm fits perfectly, and it doesn't pop out with pressure (unlike the BlueBeach cap I tried first). My lens adapter came with a lens cap, but I immediately lost it while climbing all over a bunch of rocks at Perdenales Falls, TX. So I needed one with a string. This does the job. Don't bother with the sticker - just run the string through the hole in the side. I used a different, sturdier looking string from an old camera, but the included one should work fine. It's a tiny hole, but an easy solution was to tie some fishing line to the camera string first, push the fishing line through the hole, then pull it on through.5Pinch the Outer Edges: Easier to use than stock lens capI like these, a lot. When I saw the pics where they recommended pinching the cap slides near the center, I had my doubts; I didn't think that would give you very much leverage against the spring action. And, well, when I got them, I found that to be the case--pinching near the center wasn't very practical at all. But the good news is that you can pinch them from the outer edge just fine. And with my lenses, these aftermarket caps are easier to remove and to replace than the stock lens caps. I liked these caps so much that I bought a couple more. One last thing. I also like the little lanyard attachment point. I prefer that over the adhesive attachment option. It takes a little patience to get the lanyard to loop through the holes, but the finished result looks much cleaner and less obtrusive. Anyway, that's my four cents. Good product. Nice low-cost alternative to name brand.5Center No-Pinch CapThe pinch tabs on this cap are not high enough, so if you're buying these caps for the purpose of using the caps inside a deep hood, look somewhere else. I intended it to use those on a Panasonic 20mm f1.7 with a JJC LH-46GFII hood, and it's a total fail there. I'm thinking of gluing something on there to make it usable, but as it is now, it's terribly tricky to get the cap off, or on for that matter. One extra star for the price. There are lumix pinch caps available for about 7 bucks somewhere else, a big photo equipment site starting with b and ending with h. They have 5 star reviews.2
