  • 18 GAUGE THICKNESS: This 18-gauge copper speaker wire offers very easily connection for speakers to amplifiers or receivers. The thickness is just enough for resistance and electrical flow without the risk of overheating
  • CUT AS DESIRED: The wire can be cut as desired for specific installation needs. If the plastic jacket is removed, the wire can be left bare or use wire crimp accessories to connect to stereo and speakers
  • UNDISTORTED SIGNAL: Made with plastic jacket surrounding the speaker wire to help deliver high-quality undistorted signals to and from all of connected audio equipment. This also helps with insulation
  • POLARITY MARK: Theres a red mark outlined on one side of the cable wire. Its purpose is to easily distinguish the polarity and help properly set up any audio stereo, surround sound system, TV home theater and even a car
  • 100FT CONVENIENT DISPENSE: This very long 100ft speaker wire is neatly wrapped around a hard plastic spool for easy and convenient dispensing. It can be used without hassle and instantly too

Customer Reviews

Minus some measurement issues the wire is great.*** Special not to the manufacturer *** This is not 12AWG wire. I don't know where you get your measuring tools from but where I come from 12 AWG wire should be about 2mm in diameter. This is definitely 14AWG wire which is about 1.5mm. 12 Gauge wire strippers won't even strip the stuff. This is the only reason this product gets 4 stars.Thankfully I was aware of this before I purchased the wire and was really only looking for 14AWG wire to rewire the speakers in my truck. This happens to be the best deal I have found for 12 or 14 AWG wire so I still consider it a good buy. Since each strand I was running was less than 20 feet even 14 AWG wire is capable of handling 350 Watts which is far more than my speakers can handle or my amp can produce. I highly recommend this for wiring up speakers, either in your house or vehicle, however, don't recommend it for heavy power applications such as subwoofers. 4Total FRAUD - DO NOT BUY!Please, to avoid frustration by not receiving what is shown and what you will pay for, PASS on this and find something else.I received this "14 gauge" wire today, and it is not even close.According to AWG (American Wire Gauge) charts, 14 ga stranded wire has a diameter of .073 inches or 1.8542 mm.I used digital calipers to measure this purple/fucia color wire which I received, and the wire measured out at .043 inches, which is LESS than 18 gauge wire.18 gauge wire has a diameter of .048 inches. So this garbage is not even 18 gauge, rather somewhere around 19 gauge,A good 14 gauge wire should be made of somewhere in the area of 45 - 50 30 gauge strands, and a best would be in the area of 100 to 110 strands of 34 gauge wire. Why you may ask is that important?Well wire carries the electrons on the "skin" or the "outside" area of it. SO - more strands equals more surface area which means better flow of the electrons (signal) the amp is putting out to the speakers. The smaller the gauge number, the more ampacity it has (abillty to carry/pass) the electron flow from point a to point b ( amp to speaker). This company should be ashamed of itself for passing of say 18 gauge wire for 14 gauge wire.I was so upset with this sort of practice and my findings, that I did not evem desire to measure the total length on the spool to check if it was 100 ft. or not.My instinct says probably not.AMAZON should immediately remove this from sale. It is against the law to sell product like this. Many buy as I did for price point, based on representation, and do not have the technical knowledge to even know they have beed ripped off.I DO!I will try and review other things as I purchase them as I do alot. And I will go back several months to review items I missed...Maybe I will be of some guidance to some..G 1This wire is NOT 18 gaugeI've had this for some time, it says 18AWG right on it and I never had reason to suspect that wasn't the case. Recently, I used it for a higher amperage project, and I noticed the voltage drop across the cable was more than 3 times what one would expect from an 18 gauge cable. So I measured the cross section with a micrometer, it came out to 0.75mm, much lower than the > 1mm expected for 18 gauge stranded wire. Just to verify, I unrolled what I had left and measured it at 22 meters, and measured the resistance through the entire length of both strands, 44m total, at 3.0 ohms. To be generous, I rounded up to 50m which works out to 60 ohms per kilometer. This is the expected resistance of 22-23 gauge wire, meaning it contains less than 30% the expected copper of an 18 gauge wire. Selling this wire as 18 gauge wire is outright fraud, and potentially dangerous for anybody using it expecting it to be actual 18 gauge wire. I am VERY unhappy with this purchase, and amazon would do well to cease sales of this product and products from this manufacturer.Oh, and for those who prefer visuals, I've also uploaded a product photo to show a comparison with actual 18 gauge wire. 1NOT 18 GAUGEAs others have mentioned, this is not even close to the actual gauge listed - I've worked with a lot of speaker wire, and this runs more like 22. The plastic insulation is also the most *insanely* ridiculously impossible to strip I've ever worked with. Literally lost FEET of cable to failed strips - the crimp pressure applied to cut the sleeve is enough to cut the copper, and the insulation stretches instead of pulling off. Complete garbage. 1Good price. All I needed was a piece of electrical wire about a foot long. I bought the 100 ft. reel because that was the shortest, but based on the price per foot, it was a lot cheaper than going to the well-known name hardware stores to buy one foot. Once I had it, I found I had other projects, things that would use electrical wires. I made the right decision and bought the reel. I am happy with what I did. in the long run, I will save money. 5Quality WireBefore purchasing this speaker wire, I read all the reviews. At the time there were only 4 reviews and they were all over the place (1 Five Star Review, 1 Four Star Review, 1 Three Star Review, and 1 One Star Review). Based on the available reviews, I did not know what to expect.I purchased this wire for an electrical project. I was converting a small battery powered electronic device to run from an AC to DC power adapter. I used this wire instead of automotive zip wire because I suspected that this speaker wire was better quality. This wire worked out very well for my application. I was initially impressed by the flexibility and thickness of the insulation. When I pulled the wires apart by hand, both wires were still completely covered by insulation. I had no problems stripping the insulation off the wires using my wire stripper. I also had no trouble tinning and soldering the speaker wire. None of the insulation melted when I tinned and soldered the speaker wire. My spool was a continuous 50 feet (i.e. not spliced together). Other than being made in China, I have no complaints about this speaker wire. I would definitely purchase this speaker wire again. 5Great for the priceI looked locally so as to wait but only found thinner gauge for more money. I used it for short runs but feel it should also be fine for side or rear speaker which usually to not require a lot of power. 5Buyers Be Aware!Be aware of the cheating on gauge size. In addition to many brands I already have, I ordered 6 rolls of 100ft from 3 different brands (Pyramid, InstallerGear, RCA) on Amazon at the same time. For each brand, I ordered 1 roll of 14 gauge and 1 roll of 12 gauge. When received all of them, I was extremely disappointed with 2 rolls of this Pyramid brand. Both 14 & 12 gauge have VERY THIN insulations comparing to all other 5 brands I own. But that's not the biggest disappointment yet, when I stripped the jackets/insulations off of all 6 rolls, these 2 Pyramid rolls shocked me. The Pyramid 12 gauge (Pyramid RSW12100 12AWG) wire is slightly thinner than the 14 gauge (yes, 14 gauge) of all other 5 brands. The 14 gauge (Pyramid RSW14100 14AWG) wire is also slightly thinner than the 16 gauge of all other 5 brands. I was pissed because I hate to be cheated, and that's what the Pyramid does in my case. Out of all total 6 brands I now own, the MonsterX and the RCA Digital wires are the ones that have the most thickest insulations and the gauge size can also be trusted. If you just want economy/low pricing, don't get this brand, go with the InstallerGear instead. 1For the price it works great. I tried running 12' wires to vintage 1970 ...This may not be exactly 18 gauge so if you are doing high watts and long distance then you shouldn't be buying budget wire anyway. For the price it works great. I tried running 12' wires to vintage 1970 Acoustic Research speakers coming from an Onkyo receiver and I have a discerning ear. It is also exactly what I wanted to pay for another channel B remote speaker pair I got for 15$.The salesmen at a car audio place will tell you that you need a certain current capacity wire no matter what and you'll need to buy 120$ worth of monster cables. If you're running crazy system perhaps... but unlikely you'll need what people will try to sell you. At a chain store the salesman was telling me I need huge, huge wire for my subwoofers, going only 2-3' away. Then as he was showing me the connectors into the wall system and how huge they were the connector fell off and exposed they were fed by the skimpiest wire I've ever seen. The look on his face...I've upgraded my passat GLX with the from the factory "monsoon" or whatever system and the wire for that is way smaller than this. The way I look at is if it is much low in price and you are trying to get a german car for the price of a Korean car you are going to feel like you came up short. This is cheap but it works just fine if you aren't having a concert. 4It looks like I got lucky and the wire is the correct gauge. :)I guess I got lucky.... I didn't see all the bad reviews saying wire was not the correct gauge until I got it (it looks like up to 1/3 of reviews mentioned the wire was thinner than what they ordered!) But, I got lucky. The most 'high tech' I was able to verify the size was by using my wire stripper. As with at least one review I had read, I put it in the 12 gauge slot and stripped off a small piece of insulation. It was a nice clean cut and also cut through just a few strands of wire so I am content that it is the right size. With that being said, I'm really happy with this purchase (so far). I haven't installed the wiring just yet (crossing my fingers that I didn't get a split spool like some have mentioned). I actually just need a 10' and 20' pieces so I should be fine even if it isn't a continuous piece (but I will knock off a few stars if it is split). From what I was able to tell so far, the insulation felt flexible and not like some reviews that stated that the insulation was very stiff and of poor quality. 5
